Caféine Software builds tools for reading space weather. Not a dashboard for researchers — apps you can glance at from your home screen and immediately know whether the sky is worth looking at tonight.
Where the data comes from
Everything we publish reads from the Space Weather Prediction Center of the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA SWPC). It is the same public feed that drives official storm warnings.
NOAA is not always reachable. When services.swpc.noaa.gov does not answer, or answers with an empty page, our apps and API switch to a mirror on their own. They also refuse to present old readings as current: when no source has fresh data, they say so, and when earlier data is still worth showing, it carries the date it was actually measured.
Caféine Software is not affiliated with NOAA, and nothing we publish is an official warning service. For operational decisions, use swpc.noaa.gov directly.
Privacy
The apps are free and carry ads. Their privacy policies are published alongside the store listings:
